The City of Visalia is recruiting for Convention Center Manager. The recently renovated Visalia Convention Center is sporting a new look with $5.5 million in improvements, and an additional $5 million in improvements is planned to be implemented over the next several years. Finally, this position has a key role in meeting the community needs and being the primary point of contact and engaging with marketing entities such as the Convention and Visitors Bureau, Chamber of Commerce, and other downtown business organizations.IDEAL CANDIDATE The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of event management, the ability to facilitate consistent sales growth and profitability, and will pride themselves on providing excellent service. A typical way to obtain the knowledge, skill and abilities would be: • Five (5) years of increasingly responsible experience in operation and management of a convention center or similar facility. The City has many community parks, organized team sports, a municipal golf course and private country club, a multi-sport family-oriented regional sports park, and numerous outdoor and recreational activities.
