What you’ll do:
The Corporate Events & Venue Manager is responsible for driving revenue, developing new business, and managing the end-to-end planning and execution of corporate and professional events at the company's venues. This role owns the client experience from lead generation and sales through planning, event execution, financial reconciliation, and post-event follow-up.
The ideal candidate is a relationship builder, salesperson, event producer, and operations professional who can work independently, build strong client and vendor relationships, and deliver events that are seamless, creative, and profitable.
Reporting to the Director of Operations and CEO, this role will initially provide hands-on onsite event management and, as the program grows, build and manage a reliable network of event staff and vendors.
Compensation: $70,000 base salary + 20% commission on commissionable net event revenue collected, with no stated cap on commission earnings
Key Responsibilities
Event Sales & Business Development
Own the end-to-end sales and event lifecycle, from lead generation and qualification through contracting, planning, execution, invoicing, payment collection, and post-event follow-up
Proactively generate new business while responding to, qualifying, and converting inbound inquiries
Build and maintain a strong pipeline of corporate clients, event planners, production companies, organizations, and other qualified prospects
Develop and present venue options, event packages, pricing, proposals, and agreements tailored to client objectives, event requirements, and budgets
Build relationships with local event planners, corporate organizations, production companies, and professional networks to increase venue awareness, bookings, repeat business, and referrals
Event Planning & Production
Establish standardized event-planning processes, templates, and procedures that support consistent, efficient, high-quality execution
Manage all logistical and operational aspects of corporate events, conferences, tenant events, film/photo productions, and other professional events from planning through onsite execution and breakdown
Develop event timelines, production schedules, run-of-show documents, floor plans, staffing plans, and other materials necessary for successful execution
Develop creative event concepts and experiences that align with client objectives and enhance the guest experience
Anticipate challenges, develop contingency plans, and serve as the primary onsite event lead, using sound judgment to resolve operational, client, vendor, guest, and safety issues
Initially provide hands-on onsite management and, as the program grows, recruit, train, and delegate responsibilities to qualified event staff and vendors while maintaining accountability for event quality and execution
Venue, Vendor & Staff Management
Monitor venue availability and utilization and identify opportunities to maximize bookings, revenue, and use of available event spaces
Negotiate vendor pricing and services to support event quality, client expectations, and profitability
Recruit, schedule, train, and manage temporary event personnel and volunteers as needed, ensuring vendors and staff understand event requirements, timelines, site policies, and expectations
Build and maintain a qualified network of event vendors and service providers, including caterers, AV companies, rental companies, security providers, staffing agencies, and other event professionals
Financial & Operational Management
Develop and manage event budgets, monitor revenue and direct expenses, and proactively manage event profitability and financial performance
Manage event agreements, pricing, payment schedules, invoicing, accounts receivable, and other financial and contractual requirements
Prepare monthly performance reports covering lead generation, conversion, bookings, revenue, profitability, venue utilization, client satisfaction, repeat business, and other key performance indicators
Ensure events comply with applicable regulations, permits, insurance requirements, health and safety standards, and company policies
Marketing, Venue Activation & Client Experience
Develop and execute marketing and business-development initiatives that increase venue awareness, bookings, revenue, and utilization
Create and maintain venue marketing materials, event packages, proposals, presentations, and other sales collateral
Own initiatives to activate company campuses and venues through tenant events, food truck programs, networking opportunities, community events, and other recurring experiences
Serve as the primary client contact throughout the event lifecycle, ensuring clear communication, exceptional service, and a seamless client experience
Conduct post-event debriefs, gather client feedback, evaluate event performance, and identify opportunities for improvement, repeat business, and referrals
Technology & Continuous Improvement
Manage event-management technology including CRM, registration, ticketing, scheduling, floor-plan, budgeting, and other systems used to support event sales and operations
Maintain accurate event, client, vendor, financial, and sales records and continuously improve processes, systems, and best practices to support growth and operational efficiency
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Operations and CEO
What we’d like to see:
Required Qualifications
3–5+ years of progressive experience selling and managing corporate events such as conferences, meetings, film/photo productions, and other professional events within corporate venues, conference centers, hospitality properties, commercial campuses, or similar facilities
Proven track record selling and managing the full lifecycle of corporate or professional events including lead generation, client acquisition, proposals, budgeting, planning, vendor coordination, onsite execution, and financial reconciliation
Proven success generating business, developing client relationships, closing opportunities, and cultivating repeat and referral business
Strong financial and business acumen including budgeting, expense management, profitability analysis, invoicing, accounts receivable, financial reconciliation, and use of key performance indicators
Strong vendor and contractor management skills including sourcing, negotiating, and coordinating event-related service providers
Exceptional project management and organizational skills, with the ability to independently manage multiple complex projects, priorities, and deadlines
Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, executives, vendors, staff, and other stakeholders
Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to effectively direct vendors, contractors, temporary staff, and volunteers while maintaining a strong customer-service mindset and composure in high-pressure environments
Experience building event-planning processes, systems, templates, and procedures within a growing or entrepreneurial environment
Experience developing event packages, pricing structures, sales materials, or marketing initiatives designed to increase bookings and revenue
Ability to quickly learn CRM, event-management, registration, ticketing, floor-plan, and other technology platforms
Willingness to work onsite at events, including evenings, weekends, early mornings, and extended hours as required by the event schedule
Based in or able to work primarily in the South Bay and Marina Del Rey areas of Los Angeles, with the ability to travel locally between company venues and event locations as needed
Preferred Qualifications
Established relationships with reputable local event vendors, contractors, caterers, AV providers, rental companies, security providers, staffing agencies, and other event professionals
Hands-on experience recruiting, training, scheduling, and managing temporary event staff or volunteers
Experience working in a startup, entrepreneurial, or rapidly growing environment where the ability to work autonomously, build processes, and take ownership is essential

Base Salary: $70,000 annually
Commission: 20% of commissionable net event revenue collected by the company
Commissionable Net Event Revenue: Client payments actually collected by the company, less approved direct expenses incurred to produce the applicable event, including third-party vendors, catering, audio/visual services, rentals, security, contract event staff, and other approved direct event costs
