Henry J. Kaiser Center for the Arts is a unique and forward-thinking partnership of the public, private and nonprofit sector, helping to invigorate and celebrate downtown Oakland and bring a historic and storied civic treasure back to life. Summary: Manages the front of house operations for all performances within the facility including ticketing, concessions, ushers as well as all back of house and production and A/V elements for events and performances including sound, lights, A/V and IT including: • Create and oversee implementation of operational procedures for back of house/production with clients and arts companies including advancing of shows, load-in and out logistics, labor and backstage hospitality • Oversees all production elements for the theater including technical equipment, staffing and labor • Ensures smooth backstage operations for clients and artists and excellent show production quality • Works with clients and artists in fulfilling technical riders and general production logistics • Creates and implements front of house procedures that ensure patron easy and safety as well as excellent guest experience • Oversee concessions program to build unique and fun guest experience and contribute to bottom line revenue • Ensures production and A/V equipment is well maintained and staff is trained on use and schedules are documented to ensure equipment is well kept • Oversee OSHA compliance for stage, house and event operations • Ensures building flow for event attendees is easy and friendly through signage, décor, staffing, furniture, etc. Experience • Proven experience in strategic planning and operations management within the events industry.
