Event Coordinator

Apogee Event Productions LLC Aumsville, Oregon

Wedding Coordinator | $40/hour | Growth Into Wedding Planning

Company Description:

Apogee Event Productions is an Oregon event company creating fun, well-run, stress-free experiences for weddings, corporate events, quinceañeras, school functions, and private celebrations.

Based in the Salem area and serving clients throughout the Willamette Valley and Oregon, Apogee provides wedding DJs, planning and coordination, photography, films, photo booths, and other themed event services.

We’re growing our wedding planning and coordination team and looking for people who want to become exceptional wedding coordinators, with a path to grow into professional wedding & event planning.

Role Description:

The Wedding Coordinator is an event based role responsible for helping turn an established wedding plan into a smooth, organized wedding day.

Starting pay is $40 per hour, with a structured path toward increased responsibility, higher compensation, Lead Coordinator opportunities, and paid Wedding Planner roles.

Wedding Coordinators work with couples, Apogee planners, venues, and vendor teams to understand the wedding plan and carry it out successfully. Responsibilities include reviewing timelines and event details, helping lead rehearsals, coordinating ceremonies and receptions, communicating with vendors and wedding parties, keeping events on schedule, and solving problems as they arise.

This is not initially a full-service Wedding Planner position. New coordinators will not be expected to independently take a couple from booking through the entire planning process.

Instead, Apogee provides an opportunity to learn that side of the business as you grow.

Coordinators who demonstrate strong leadership, reliability, communication, and wedding-day management skills may advance into Lead Coordinator and Planner-in-Training roles. From there, team members can begin taking on paid planning responsibilities such as timelines, planning meetings, vendor coordination, ceremony planning, floor plans, and eventually managing their own Apogee wedding clients.

Responsibilities:

Review wedding timelines, ceremony plans, vendor details, and event information before assigned weddingsHelp lead wedding rehearsals and organize ceremony logisticsCoordinate wedding parties, vendors, and important event transitionsCommunicate with DJs, photographers, caterers, venues, officiants, and other event partnersKeep ceremonies and receptions running according to the established timelineProvide calm, professional leadership when plans changeHelp oversee agreed-upon décor placement and wedding-day detailsServe as a knowledgeable point of contact for the couple and vendor team during assigned eventsIdentify and solve problems without unnecessarily involving or stressing the coupleRepresent Apogee professionally with couples, guests, venues, and industry partnersQualifications:

No previous experience is needed. We hire for personality. We’re interested in candidates with wedding or event experience, but we’re also open to strong applicants from hospitality, catering, venues, restaurants, management, and other fast-moving, people-focused environments.

Successful candidates should have:

Strong organization and attention to detailExcellent communication and customer service skillsConfidence giving clear direction to groups and vendorsThe ability to remain calm and make good decisions under pressureStrong reliability and time managementComfort working independently while being part of a larger event teamEvening and weekend availability based on accepted event assignmentsReliable transportation and the ability to travel to assigned venuesAbility to move 50lbs onto a cart and push itGreat outgoing personalityCompensation & Growth

Starting pay: $40/hour

This is an event based position, and weekly hours are not guaranteed. Most wedding work takes place on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, with some weekday or evening rehearsals and planning responsibilities.

Apogee has a defined advancement path:

Wedding Coordinator → Lead Wedding Coordinator → Planner-in-Training → Wedding Planner

Advancement is based on demonstrated ability rather than simply time with the company. Team members who successfully take on greater responsibility can qualify for increased compensation and additional paid planning work.

You don’t have to become a Wedding Planner to be successful at Apogee. Great Wedding Coordinators are valuable members of our team. But for someone who wants to build real wedding-planning skills, we want there to be a clear path forward.
