The Virginia Beach Convention Center, operated by the Convention & Visitors Bureau, is a premier venue designed to host a range of large-scale events including conventions, professional trade shows, consumer shows, and community gatherings. As an Event Coordinator, the individual will play an integral role in overseeing large-scale events, with attendance often exceeding 5,000 participants. This position requires an individual who is self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of exercising independent judgment and initiative. The Convention Center offers a chance to make a meaningful impact in a community-centered organization dedicated to creating memorable and successful events. • High school diploma or GED • Six years experience in event supervision or related fields • Valid Virginia or North Carolina drivers license or ability to obtain one • Availability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime • Completion of required training and certification within first year • Ability to work in inclement weather conditions • Must complete defensive driving, first aid/CPR/AED and crowd management certification • Must be self-motivated and detail oriented • Ability to exercise independent judgment and initiative
