Merchants Exchange Productions (MXP) is seeking a part-time professional day of event manager to work private events at our venues in downtown San Francisco. MXP is a premium, full-service hospitality company responsible for three of San Francisco’s most iconic venues — the Julia Morgan Ballroom, Merchants Exchange Club and Banking Hall. The Event Manager is responsible for managing all day of event execution and expectations for various types of events including but not limited to corporate, nonprofit, weddings and social events. • Oversee the complete day of execution of events as well as overall service aspects throughout • Thoroughly review all event materials and documents prior to arriving on site; asking questions prior to arriving at the venue • Manage the FOH team day of - review event, expectations, all job responsibilities and assignments • Conduct full pre-shift meeting with the FOH team • Ensure all team members for the event are on time, signed in and take appropriate breaks • Coordinate with Culinary Team on timing and execution of service • Assist with all front of the house set-up as necessary: registration, packages, signage, stanchions, screens, easels, coat check, etc. • Ensure service standards are demonstrated by all team members on a consistent basis • Uphold dress code for all FOH team members (servers, bartenders, bar backs, coat check) • Manage and direct FOH team members throughout event on proper set ups, assigning tasks, breaks, ensuring proper execution, proper service and safety techniques, etc.
