The Event Manager position at the University of Oregon is a critical role within the Intercollegiate Athletics Department, reporting directly to the Assistant Athletic Director of Facilities and Events. This regular, ongoing, full-time position is responsible for the meticulous planning and execution of high-quality athletic events that support 18 nationally recognized intercollegiate athletic programs. The salary is commensurate with experience and aligns with the OS-OA05 compensation band for the fiscal years 2025-2026.

The Event Manager acts as the central point of contact for game operations and event management for various sports including soccer, lacrosse, baseball, and assists with football games and track and field meets. Key responsibilities include recruiting, hiring, supervising, and evaluating temporary and student staff to ensure seamless support for athletic and external events held in multiple athletic venues. This role demands close collaboration with internal departments such as Athletic Facilities, Ticketing, Media Relations, Marketing, Donor Relations, Audio/Video, and Athletic Programs, as well as external stakeholders like city officials, emergency services, police, and fire departments.

Major functions include planning, organizing, and coordinating all event management activities at department facilities, ensuring policies and regulations of the university, Big Ten Conference, NCAA, and state of Oregon are strictly adhered to. The Event Manager also manages budgeting and supervises event staff at venues such as PK Park and Pape Field, coordinating approximately 75 events annually. The role requires a flexible schedule with the capacity to work long and irregular hours as dictated by the event calendar.
