We are an award-winning hands-on cooking school and event venue with two professional teaching kitchens in Berkeley and Oakland. We have an immediate opening for an enthusiastic and creative event planner and marketing lead to increase sales volume for our organization. With our recent expansion, we are primed and ready for significant growth. Base compensation depends on experience/plus sales commission and/or bonus. Responsibilities • Contact existing and prospective customers to book private parties, team building and corporate wellness events • Recommend event formats and menus to customers, based on customers' needs and interests • Follow through to final booking of events including menu and client materials • Educate potential customers about the benefits of team-building and corporate wellness events • Assist in development and implementation of strategies to find new customers and collaboration with community partners to drive brand awareness • Lead the development of marketing content including newsletters, blogs and ads • Assist in seasonal menu development, recipe review, and related updates • Monthly reporting on results and other office coordination as needed Requirements and Skills • Experience with event planning, sales, or marketing for a minimum of 2 years with demonstrated sales achievement • Desired experience in the food industry with a combination of sales, customer relations, menu development and/or as a chef • Excellent written and oral communication skills • Service oriented • Active listening • Social perceptiveness • Critical thinking • Negotiation • Relationship building • Calendar management and Account management • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task • Proficient in G Suite and Microsoft Office Kitchen on Fire will provide a computer and smartphone for a temporary home office for the duration of the stay-at-home order.Create an account to see the full posting, access our search engine, and more.
