Regularly scheduled meetings aredetermined based on Event Planner’s availability in consultation with the supervisor.Music Event Planner provides consistent and engaging programming for a diverseaudience of students, including regularly scheduled music events (such as standardticketed shows, WAM-O-Rama, GIGS Student Sound, Battle of the Bands, and onelarge scale concert), with an overall goal of creating a welcoming, accessible and funexperience for students on campus.The SUA Student Events Team is dedicated to creating fun and engaging events forundergraduate, graduate, and professional students at the University of Minnesota. Ourfour committees - Social Events, Music Group, Bingo & Trivia, and Lead Planners - worktogether to plan a wide variety of events throughout the year, from movie nights andconcerts to Homecoming and Spring Jam™. We aim to build a strong campuscommunity by providing something for everyone!Job Duties & Responsibilities● Event Planning (40%): Research national and local music artists to book adiverse lineup of artists throughout the academic year. Create and update weeklyslide presentations for events. Collect student attendee data and provide eventevaluation. Gather student feedback regarding interest in music artists andgenres. Music Event Planners are responsible for the planning, implementation,execution, and evaluation of approximately five events per semester.● Event Execution (40%): Book, execute and provide customer service toattendees; set up and teardown events and connect with AV team, recruit andlead event volunteers.● Market Research (15%): Research events happening on campus, in localcommunities, and at other institutions while conducting outreach to the studentbody to inform decision-making around artist selection for events.● Post-Event Evaluation (5%): Recap events after completion and providerecommendations for future events, contribute to event evaluation and implementimprovements to increase accessibility and attendee satisfaction.● Other duties as assignedMinimum● Current University of Minnesota student.
