Job DescriptionAs an Events Planner, you will design and host high-energy, sports-adjacent, game-based, and competition-driven events that bring all demographics of people together through movement, teamwork, local pride, and playful competition. This role blends event production with the spirit of athletics, recreation, and community energy.
This role blends strategy, logistics, partnership development, and on-the-ground hosting. You are not only producing events. You are using events as a vehicle to build our audience and drive the foot traffic needed to ensure our success in San José, turning first-time visitors into regulars.
You will work traditional business hours for planning and coordination, and attend events on evenings and weekends as part of your regular 40-hour work week (not in addition to it).

Production & LogisticsCoordinating all event details with food vendors, bar team, park staff, performers/talent, and other vendors and contributorsManaging event copy, timelines, layouts, permitting, budgets, and production logisticsEnsuring your event planning does not create downstream friction for other teams via clear documentation, realistic timelines, and strong cross-team communicationProviding clear creative direction and event messaging inputs for the Marketing team, who will promote events via email, social, press, and community channels
On-Site Event Leadership & HostingLeading day-of logistics and staffingWelcoming and coordinating guests, sponsors, partners, and vendorsActing as a facilitator and host when needed, bringing high, positive, team-captain energy to events and rallying guests into participation so events come alive
Documentation, Records, Insight, and GrowthMaintaining organized partner/vendor directories, resources, and event documentationTracking production details (equipment, timelines, staffing, layouts) to support other teamsFollowing up after events to document outcomes, learnings, and data that enable the team to measure impact, troubleshoot issues, spot opportunities, and continuously improve ROI, guest experience, and production quality

Compensation & BenefitsSalaried: $65,000 – $68,000 annually
After 90 days of employment, Sick Pay, Health Insurance, 401k, Pre-Tax Transit, and Paid Time Off are available to full-time employees.
Interview Process & Work SampleAs part of our interview process, select candidates will complete a brief work sample designed to understand their creativity, event strategy, and communication approach.
