The role of Event Planning Manager at Hyatt Regency McCormick Place is an exciting and dynamic opportunity reserved for experienced hospitality professionals focused on event management. Reporting directly to the Director of Events, the manager is responsible for planning and executing mid-size to large market group events, ranging from 250 room nights and above. This includes complex meetings, conventions, trade shows, galas, and citywide events. The ideal candidate for this role is highly organized, proactive, and self-directed, with the capability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while anticipating client and operational needs. Exceptional communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to establish and maintain strong client relationships are essential.
In this role, the Event Planning Manager serves as the primary contact for clients and manages the entire event planning lifecycle, from contract turnover through event execution and post-event follow-up. Responsibilities include leading event detailing such as agenda development, menu planning, room setups, transportation logistics, and billing. The manager coordinates with various departments—Event Sales, Operations, Culinary, and Event Services—and collaborates with McCormick Place partners and vendors to ensure seamless and memorable event experiences.
