Event Production & Technical Manager

Oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of all technical and production aspects for events and performances within the Lorton Performance Center (LPC) and across other university event spaces. Oversees audiovisual systems and event technologies, including sound reinforcement, lighting, projection, staging, and related equipment; ensures proper setup, operation, and teardown. Demonstrated experience overseeing audiovisual systems, theatrical lighting, rigging systems, production technologies, and event safety/risk mitigation practices required. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with senior leadership, faculty, students, external clients, community partners, and cross-functional university departments required.Equivalent professional experience in higher education, performing arts venues, convention centers, touring productions, broadcast environments, or comparable entertainment and event industries may be considered. Due to the dynamic and event-driven nature of university operations, the duties, responsibilities, and activities of this position may vary based on operational needs, event schedules, institutional priorities, emergencies, and evolving technologies or regulatory requirements.
