As an Event Specialist, you will collaborate closely with stakeholders across marketing, product, and sales teams to implement impactful trade shows and customer events aimed at driving brand awareness, demand generation, and sales enablement. The ideal candidate for this position holds a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field and possesses 1-3 years of experience in trade show and event planning, contract negotiation, and event execution with a focus on marketing impact. Take part in driving Cengage’s mission to transform education through technology and be an integral part of delivering enriching events that connect the company with its customers and promote the company’s vision. • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Marketing, or related experience • 1-3 years of tradeshow and event planning experience • 1-3 years of contract negotiation experience • 1-2 years of experience using events to drive brand awareness, demand generation, and sales enablement • Exceptional project management skills with utmost attention to detail • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Ability to work independently with a positive attitude and ability to learn • Ability to travel 5 to 8 times per year • Able to meet physical demands associated with the role including lifting 50 lbs, packing and unpacking event materials, and standing for extended periods • Requires proficiency with MS Office and Office 365 with mastery of Excel
