Events and Hospitality Sales Manager (Boutique Hotel)

Creole Gardens New Orleans, Louisiana

Events & Hospitality Sales Manager — Help us Grow the Fun and the Funk!

Location: New Orleans, LA
Type: Full-time

If you love hospitality, enjoy building relationships and get real satisfaction from bringing business in the door, we'd love to meet with you. We are looking for someone to generate and respond to events and wedding inquiries for our small locally owned hotel.

Compensation: $20/hour base plus commission on events and buyouts booked. This is a sales-forward role with real earning upside for candidates who actively generate and close business. Hours and compensation may increase as the events program grows.

We’re a locally owned, personality-packed boutique property where events feel personal, meaningful, memorable, and unmistakably New Orleans. Because we're small, this role is ideal for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats--sales first, with hand's on involvement in functions, food and beverage, parties, musical events, and guest experience. We love and honor the arts and musical culture of our city and try to give our guests a taste of it.

This is not a purely administrative role and not a planner- only position. We're looking for someone who knows how to generate revenue, nurture relationships, and then help ensure events are executed smoothly.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Driving Revenue and Building Relationships

Really get to know each client’s style, personality, and priorities — then help bring their ideas to life.
• Proactively generate new business for weddings, social events, buyouts, community events, artistic and musical events, and small corporate events.
• Actively prospect and follow up on wedding, social and corporate event leads---this role rewards initiative and closing ability.
• Respond to inquiries and confidently convert leads into booked events.
• Build lasting relationships with couples, clients, planners, vendors and local partners.
• Represent the property with warmth, professionalism and strong follow-through.

Event Sales and Planning
• Create organized event plans including timelines, layouts, vendor communication, and day-of details.
• Oversee event setup and breakdown so everything looks and runs just the way it should.
• Ensure every event has a day-of coordinator — and offer our in-house coordination option when clients want added support.

Growing Our Events Program
• Guide clients from initial inquiry through contract and execution.
• Create organized event plans including timelines, layouts, vendor coordination and day -of details.
• Manage proposals, contract, minimums, and pricing with clarity and confidence.

Food & Beverage Collaboration
• Work closely with caterers, chefs, bartenders and vendors.
• Understand F & B flow, staffing needs, and margins well enough to sell events realistically and profitably.
• Help ensure event service aligns with what was sold--no surprises for guests or staff.

Hands-On Boutique Hotel Reality
• Oversee event setup and breakdown when needed.
• Juggle multiple events while keeping clients informed and calm.
• Step in where needed--because that's how small successful hotels work.

What Makes You a Great Fit
• 3-5 years of experience in events, hospitality , hotels, restaurants, catering or private dining (or 20+ events personally handled or sold) and relationships with event, wedding and party planners.
• Proven experience selling events and functions--not just supporting sales.
• Comfortable discussing pricing, minimums, contracts and upsells.
• Comfortable in a commission based sales environment where performance drives earnings.
• Warm, confident communicator--written and verbal.
• Experience with food & beverage operation is a big plus.
• Willing to work evenings, weekends and peak season when events require it.
• Above all: outgoing, personable, adaptable, and genuinely passionate about hospitality and the culture of New Orleans.

Why You'll Love Working Here
• A fun, supportive, locally owned business where your ideas matter.
• A truly unique property--quirks included (we consider them part of the charm!)
• Real opportunity to grow with the business and shape how events are sold and executed.
• A role where your work directly impacts the success of the hotel.
