The Events & Beverage Manager is responsible for the planning, management, and execution of all FIA-hosted events, fundraisers, facility rentals, and bar services, ensuring each is delivered to the highest standard while maintaining full compliance with FIA policies, operational procedures, and customer service expectations. Special Event Execution • Act as the primary contact for all confirmed FIA events and facility rentals • Create detailed work orders and coordinate with internal departments to ensure successful event execution • Serve as the on-site lead and supervise event setup and breakdown, ensuring the safety of artwork, galleries, and public spaces • Oversee bar service operations, including inventory management, supply ordering, and occasional bartending or serving as needed • Resolve issues in real-time as necessary • Maintain availability for all special events and fundraisers, including evenings and weekends Policy & Board Engagement • Ensure special events reflect the museum’s mission and values • Have thorough knowledge of Special Event Policies and contribute to policy revisions in collaboration with the Director of Visitor Experience and Board Committee • Ensure all Michigan liquor laws and FIA alcohol policies are current and enforced • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Visitor Experience All personnel may be required to perform duties outside of their normal responsibilities from time to time, as needed.
