The Parks and Recreation Department plays a crucial role in this effort by managing and coordinating a wide range of City-wide special events and entertainment programs that reflect the unique culture and spirit of Winter Garden. The position of Event Coordinator within the City of Winter Garden’s Parks and Recreation Department is an exciting, multifaceted role that is responsible for assisting with the coordination, support, and ongoing management of all City-sponsored events. This position reports directly to the Parks and Recreation Director and offers the opportunity to be part of a passionate team dedicated to enriching community life through exceptional event experiences. • Three years of progressively responsible experience in event planning with at least two years in coordination and/or supervisory role • Possesses and maintains a valid Florida Class 'E' driver’s license and good driving record • Ability to operate City vehicles to travel to/from facilities and appointments • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook • Ability to learn new software and systems used by the City • Ability to work flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays • Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting up to 40 pounds, walking, standing, and working outdoors in various weather conditions • Requirements are subject to approval by Human Resources Director and City Manager for exceptions
