The City of Sacramento is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Events Coordinator (Sales Coordinator) to join the Public Health, Sales, Tourism and Convention Services division. This is a rewarding public sector career that blends coordination, customer service, and event expertise in an environment dedicated to public service and excellence. • Completion of 60 college semester units including courses in business or public administration • one year of responsible experience in planning and supervising a variety of events in a large recreational, entertainment or similar public use facility or grounds • ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing • ability to anticipate, schedule, and coordinate equipment, operations, and service needs for individual events • ability to enforce health, fire, and safety codes • supervisory skills to direct and review the work of events or set-up staff • availability to physically report to a City of Sacramento worksite with little notice • ability to respond effectively and tactfully to user complaints and inquiries
