Events Director

The Events and Rides Department oversees Cascade Bicycle Club’s 14+ annual fundraising rides and events, Tours Program, and a variety of “off the bike” events. Who We Are We collaborate with community members and public officials to shape policies and investments in active transportation that create equitable, sustainable, and thriving communities across Washington state. Duties and Responsibilities • Project Management (30%) • Develop work plans for all team members (currently a 4-person team) • Lead team meetings and ensuring that no detail is overlooked, from safety measures to participant registration process, for each event • Consult on new events regarding team capacity • Develop annual budgets with guidance from Finance and Executive Director • Executive Management (40%) • Set strategy for Cascade events and programs in alignment with Cascade’s mission and racial equity goals • Host weekly check-ins with all team members regarding work plans and professional development • Manage team budget • As a member of staff Leadership Team, guide organizational decisions regarding personnel, direction of the organization, and staff culture • Oversee employees in charge of the following programs: Cascade Events and Tours, Volunteers, Event Communications, and Pedalling Relief Project, • Ability to problem solve issues or conflicts promptly and diplomatically • Event Production (30%) • Ensure Cascade’s paid rides are effectively managed so they are safe, inclusive, and mission-aligned. This includes pre-event logistics, day-of-event staffing, and research and development of new events • Maintain positive relationships with communities, businesses, and all entities associated with events, including Casscade’s extensive volunteer community • Enthusiasm for promoting cycling as a community engagement activity while fostering a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for all participants • Oversee design and production of ride materials and giveaways plus ensures that printing and ordering deadlines are met • Assist the Events and Communications Coordinator in developing and updating content for Cascade’s website • Assist the Events and Communications Coordinator in creating content for all pre- and post-event messaging • Support Cascade initiatives around diversity, equity, and inclusion
