Looking for someone to start as soon as possible.The Corporate Event Planner Specialist owns the seamless delivery and execution of all Corporate Meetings & Incentive Groups and is responsible for planning all aspects of Corporate Meetings and Incentive groups from day of contract execution until sailing termination.The Event Planner will liaise with clients (Incentive Houses, Corp Directs, Buyers, C level Decision Makers, and Meeting Planners) to identify their needs and ensure customer satisfaction and successful onboard execution while seeking opportunities to upsell onboard packages to maximize revenue generation.Negotiate and secure onboard venue space and coordinate Audio / Visual requirements, ensuring F&B options and branding are arranged for each assigned program and all other program enhancements.Must be able to anticipate program needs, recommend creative solutions, discern work priorities, and meet deadlines with little supervision.Experience in event planning, capable of providing outstanding customer service, and ability to build relationships with both external and internal customers.Play a critical role in pre-cruise revenue generation and offering creative customized onboard experiences during the pre-sail process.Own and oversee the overall coordination process for assigned accounts and group programs by ensuring that all aspects are processed accurately and timely.Respond to all inquiries relating to program planning through phone or written correspondence while adhering to departmental guidelines.Seek to upsell onboard amenities and packages to corporate clients throughout the life of the contract.Responsible for achieving annual departmental and pre-cruise onboard revenue goals.Liaison with Onboard Revenue teams for Shore-Excursions, Spa, F&B, Specialty Restaurants, Internet, and Photo to drive pre-cruise sales.Review all aspects of group contracts, including verification of cabin inventory, pre-approved venue confirmation, air requirements, hotel packages, accounting invoices, payments, commission refunds, manifests, and documentation.Clearly explain expectations to prevent miscommunications between Royal Caribbean and the Meeting Planners.Conduct Week of Sailing Calls to review all program details in the amenity report and make program adjustments as necessary.Finalize and process amenities in both the AS400 and Affair ware systems. Research the logistics and costs of amenity requests, process all pertinent materials to be sent on board the ships, and communicate verbally and in written form to all supporting departments related to amenity/function requests.Escort Day site, site sailing, and program sailings as well as conduct Recon meetings as needed.Process and enter AFCs received for correction or additions to groups.Establish an excellent business relationship between assigned accounts and Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd and anticipate the needs of assigned accounts while advising them of opportunities to sell additional business.Communicate terms and conditions of all new groups booked to assigned accounts.Review all exceptions to policy with Department Supervisor.Continuously seek new and innovative ways to maximize the business relationship between assigned accounts and Royal Caribbean.Provide pre and post problem resolution.Perform other duties as required. Employees will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management.Education, Experience, Knowledge & SkillsBachelor's degree (BA) from a four-year college or university preferred; or three to five years of related experience in Event Planning, Sales, or Customer Service.Experience in phone sales, customer service, and/or event coordination.Ability to analyze problems and follow a logical course for resolution.Ability to view a situation from all angles and determine the best course of action, considering all details.Service-oriented with a strong sales focus.Creative thinker.Ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments simultaneously.Ability to accomplish projects with little supervision.Possess a fantastic customer service ethic and high expectations for quality.Detail-oriented.Excellent communication skills, including writing, proofreading, and speaking.Liaison with the Corporate Sales Team to ensure a successful turnover of contracts, allowing for seamless execution.Knowledge of AS400, Affair ware, MS Office, Insight.Responsible for reconciliation of all financial transactions for all Corporate Meetings and Incentive Programs.Focus on driving pre-sail onboard revenue.Ensure all payment and cancellation terms are aligned with contract terms and conditions.Process refunds as necessary.Ensure accurate pricing.Achieve annual goals set by Management.Accurately manage cancellation fees.May require limited travel.About Generis Tek : Generis Tek is a boutique IT / professional staffing firm based in Chicagoland.
