Manager of Special Events and Projects

The Manager of Special Events and Projects is responsible for generating additional contributed revenue by providing staff leadership and project management for special fundraising events and projects conducted by the CLO and the CLO Ambassadors. Responsibilities include: • Creating solicitation materials, letters, and other written content • Organizing auction donations • Overseeing the design and production of event invitations and programs • Coordinating volunteer meetings • Managing tasks critical to the event’s success and overall Ambassador activities • Work closely with volunteer leaders and committees to plan and implement CLO fundraising events • Develop and maintain calendars and event timelines, ensuring deliverables and deadlines are met • Take the lead in organizing the CLO Gala Event, which involves: • Developing solicitation materials and mailings • Coordinating auctions and raffles • Managing staff and volunteer needs • Overseeing the design and production of the event program • Handling all necessary tasks to ensure the event’s successful execution • Work closely with volunteer leaders and committees to plan and implement CLO fundraising events • Develop and maintain calendars and event timelines, ensuring deliverables and deadlines are met • Lead other CLO Special Events as needed, including: • Cast parties, special donor events, and pre/post-performance gatherings • Fundraisers, SPARK Festival events, and other special projects • Oversee the recruitment, scheduling, and coordination of volunteers for all CLO special events and fundraising activities • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with local vendors, such as caterers and restaurants to ensure well designed, cost effective events that meet CLO’s standards • Provide leadership and expertise in the development and execution of additional CLO special projects as needed • Other duties as assigned to support the mission of CLO What you’ll need: • 1-3 years’ experience in a non-profit or community organization in development, special events, community campaigns or volunteer management • Excellent project management and organizational skills with demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy • Excellent customer service and relationship building skills • Strong aptitude for oral and written communication • Engaged in and inspired by Musical Theater • Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment • Flexible and skilled at juggling multiple projects at once with the ability to deftly manage logistics • Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and database programs.
