About Bootstrap Magazine:

Bootstrap Magazine is a print and digital media platform covering diaspora entrepreneurship, investment, and the builders of Africa. We are based in Accra, Ghana, and our audience is 60% US-based diaspora and 40% African (primarily Ghana).

The Role:

We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Media & Events Intern to join our team for a 4-month internship (September–December 2026).

This is a hybrid, 20-hour/week role for someone who wants hands-on experience in media, event coverage, and networking. Must live in Accra.

What You'll Do:

Scout 5–10 business, entrepreneurship, and diaspora events per week across Accra.Pitch event organizers for media access and press passes for Bootstrap Magazine.Attend 1–2 events per week (sometimes solo, sometimes with the Founder) to network, take photos, and collect business cards.Write 300–500 word event summaries with photos for the Bootstrap website.Maintain a contact database (Google Sheets) of connections and business cards.Assist with scheduling social media content.Assist with logistics and behind-the-scenes content for Bootstrap-hosted events and photoshoots.

What We're Looking For:

Strong writing skills in English.Comfortable with public speaking and engaging with new people at networking events.Strong organizational and time-management abilities—you'll be managing multiple tasks and deadlines.Proficient with common office, communication, and social media tools (Google Workspace, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.).Own laptop.Reliable transportation to attend events in Accra.Proactive, self-starter who can work independently.Available for 20 hours/week, including some evenings/weekends for events.Must live in Accra.

Bonus (but not required): Familiarity with project management tool like Asana is a plus.
