Project 216 is seeking a part-time Event Manager to lead our food packing events. Project 216 delivers all necessary ingredients and supplies to the event site, trains the event host’s volunteers on how to pack the food, organizes set-up and tear-down for the event, and facilitates distribution of food to hungry and malnourished people locally and around the world with the help of our distribution partners. This includes driving a truck loaded with supplies to off-site events, overseeing Project 216 volunteers during events, and returning supplies to the warehouse after events. The Event Manager will train event participants on how to pack food, and in the absence of the Event Development Specialist, will educate participants on hunger around the world, explain Project 216’s role in fighting hunger, and share who will be receiving the food packed at the event. • When unable to lead an event, the event manager will recruit an alternate event manager from the pool of Project 216 volunteers.
