Area events if available)

About PBB
Project Breaking Barriers empowers youth (ages 13–20) through career exposure and
immersive learning. Our four pillars, Representation, Exposure, Immersion, Experience,
guide everything we create and share.
Role Summary
The Photographer, Film & Video Editor captures and crafts compelling visual stories of PBB
programs and participants, from short social clips to recap reels and photo essays. You’ll
plan, shoot (when applicable), and edit assets that highlight student experiences, partner
spotlights, and the impact of our IGNITE programs—delivering polished content for web,
socials, presentations, and funder updates. (Editing competencies adapted from industry

Key Responsibilities
Photography
• Capture high-quality stills of programs, speakers, and participants (when on-site
coverage is scheduled).
• Conduct quick portrait sessions (consent-aware) and document behind-the-scenes
moments that reflect PBB’s pillars.
• Cull, retouch, and deliver organized photo sets; maintain metadata and file naming
conventions.
Video Production & Editing
• Organize and string together raw footage according to scripts/outlines and producer
direction.
• Edit sequences; add music, dialogue, captions, lower thirds, and sound effects;
correct errors to ensure a smooth, logical story.
• Create short vertical videos (9:16) for TikTok/Reels/Shorts and horizontal cuts for
web/presentations.
• Color-correct, mix basic audio, and export deliverables to spec.
Content Operations
• Build and maintain a tidy media library; tag assets for easy retrieval.
• Ensure consent forms and brand guidelines are followed; protect youth privacy.
• Collaborate with program leads to prioritize content that supports grant reports,
parent communication, and partner recognition.
Qualifications
• Portfolio demonstrating photo and video editing work (student or professional).
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere Pro, After Effects,
Photoshop/Lightroom) or equivalent tools; familiarity with TikTok/YouTube
workflows.
• Strong listening, problem-solving, and attention to detail; ability to organize material
into clear narratives.
• Comfort working independently in a remote environment; dependable and flexible
with timelines.
Nice to Have
• Experience filming on mirrorless/DSLR cameras and basic lighting/audio.
• Motion graphics for intros, transitions, and title cards (After Effects).
• Experience working with youth-serving or mission-driven organizations.
