Anthropic is seeking a new member of our Central Policy team to build and execute our policy events strategy. As our first full-time policy events hire, you'll establish Anthropic's presence through high-impact strategic programs that advance our mission of ensuring safe and beneficial AI development. Responsibilities: • Develop and execute comprehensive policy events across Anthropic's priority regions • Plan, manage, and execute a portfolio of strategic events including Anthropic-hosted, independently driven tentpole large events; policy roundtables and receptions; and Anthropic's presence at partner programs and conferences • Build scalable frameworks and processes for event programs from scratch • Manage regional resources, including building relationships with key partners, vendors, and industry organizations, and partner closely with Central Policy leadership to align on priorities • Measure and report on program effectiveness including stakeholder engagement, relationship advancement, and ROI • Collaborate with global Events team to ensure regional programs align with company-wide strategy while meeting local market needs • Coordinate with cross-functional partners to ensure consistent messaging and positioning in all regional programs • Drive continuous improvement through post-event analysis and stakeholder feedback • Manage and oversee the calendar of all of Anthropic's policy events Startup experience is strongly preferred • Are a proven self-starter who can build and run sophisticated programs in fast-paced startup environments, with the ability to thrive as the first dedicated policy events hire • Have experience evaluating and activating at premium third-party events strategically, including at high-end venues and cultural experiences • Have strong project management skills with experience managing complex, multi-region programs simultaneously • Possess exceptional budgeting and financial management capabilities with experience managing substantial event budgets • Demonstrate cultural awareness and ability to adapt strategies for diverse policy audiences • Excel at cross-functional collaboration, particularly with communications and policy teams • Are comfortable with ambiguity and thrive in fast-paced, evolving environments • Have strong analytical skills and data-driven approach to program optimization. Strong candidates may also have: • Experience educating policy audiences about AI/ML or other complex technical topics • Understanding of U.S. regulatory and compliance requirements for policy events and activities • Experience working in high-growth technology companies
