Special Events Coordinator (Part-Time)

This position reports to the Director of Marketing and Events. Work with internal and external committees and volunteersAttend zoo events as event support or event leadAssist special events team on events to build zoo attendance and revenue. Work independently and as part of a team to create exceptional guest experiencesWork most events on calendar and take direction from event lead on those events where this position is not event lead.Assist with researching new event ideas or enhancing current events.Completing event team notes as applicable.Provide reports in a timely manner on attendance, revenue, expenses and marketing efforts for each event. This position is required to work some weekends, holidays and evenings to operate special events and programs. A bachelor's degree, or a student working towards a degree, in event management, marketing, communications or related field is desired.Must be prepared to drive a golf cart, occasionally work outside in all seasons, do a large amount of walking, standing, lifting, and carrying of event materialsPrefer 1-3 years of successful experience in event planning.
