About the position

Leigh & Co. Events is a fast-growing wedding planning company looking for planners in Iowa. This contract position offers a flexible schedule and training. The role involves serving as a lead planner, providing wedding planning services primarily onsite, and working alongside client experience managers and assistant coordinators to execute weddings for couples. The position is for the 2026 season and beyond.

Responsibilities

Attend a final details call with clients approximately 6 weeks prior to the wedding to confirm logistics, timeline, and expectationsLead and facilitate the ceremony rehearsal on the day prior to the wedding, ensuring all participants are confident in timing, processional flow, and key cuesServe as the primary advocate for the couple onsite - maintaining a calm, solutions-focused presence and supporting them through any challenges that ariseOversee ceremony and reception setup in alignment with the event design and our day-of execution playbookManage full wedding day execution from initial vendor arrival through final breakdown at the end of the eveningGreet, direct, and act as the main point of contact for all vendorsCommunicate setup instructions clearly to vendors to ensure alignment with the event planCoordinate and assist with placement of personal and event details including escort cards, menus, table numbers, favors, guest book, and décor elementsSupport the wedding party and family members with guidance, timing cues, and any day-of needsEnsure all end-of-event items (gifts, guest book, personal décor, etc.) are properly packed and accounted forProactively manage and resolve any issues or last-minute changes to maintain a smooth guest experienceRequirements

Ability to work weekends is essentialMust have 2 years experience as a wedding planner or event plannerMust have strong communication skills and be detail orientedMust have reliable transportationMust be able to carry and lift 30 lbs.Benefits
