Job Title: Administrative Support and Event Coordinator We are seeking a highly organized and proactive professional to join the Office of Research within Syracuse University. About the Role This role will provide comprehensive support to the office, focusing on administrative tasks and event coordination. • Fully educated with an Associate's or Bachelor's Degree • Minimum two years of relevant experience Key Qualifications • Proven ability to manage complex schedules and high-level meetings • Exceptional communication skills and a customer-service-oriented mindset • Ability to work independently with sound judgment and discretion • Experience with event planning and coordination • Proficiency in travel arrangements and reimbursement processes • Strong computer skills and familiarity with office software • Flexibility and adaptability to handle multiple assignments and interruptions Responsibilities • Provide proactive administrative support to the Office of Research • Manage complex calendars, respond to inquiries, and handle highly confidential matters • Arrange comprehensive travel plans and manage reimbursements, ensuring compliance with university policies • Take charge of event planning from start to finish, ensuring each event is memorable and runs smoothly • Coordinate logistics for meetings, including booking rooms and arranging catering • Process small orders, reconcile accounts, and assist with newsletter and website updates as necessary • Maintain office supplies, manage copier needs, and update electronic records • Provide backup support to the Executive Assistant to the Vice President for Research • Provide administrative leadership support by managing complex calendars, responding to inquiries, and handling highly confidential matters with discretion • Other duties as assigned
