Join us for an incredible opportunity to be a part of our Event Services leadership team as our Assistant Event Operations Manager , supporting the Hyatt Regency La Jolla! Responsibilities may include: • Supports and manages the Event Services (Banquets) department while working closely with the Banquet Manager, Director of Events, Associate Director of Events and Assistant Director of Operations- F&B, along with other hotel departments • Supervise, Empower, Lead, Coach and Motivate the teams including captains, food servers, and Event Set Up housepersons towards achieving exceptional guest service results and positive colleague engagement • Assist the hotel in reaching top notch service scores on our Meeting Planner surveys. • Support the appropriate and timely set up of all functions and meetings while maintaining the highest standards of food, beverage and meeting specifications • Support the review of staffing and equipment needs • Support the coordination and execution of all events with Culinary, Stewarding, Event Planning & Sales, and Event Setup • Maintain a high energy, positivity, and a professional appearance • Develop innovative and creative décor for Banquet function space • Support the short and long term banquet functions in the front and back of the house • Support an environment establishing the highest standards of quality service and ensure implementation through effective hiring, training development, promotion and continuous reinforcement. The Assistant Banquet Manager is an integral part of the hotel's overall Food and Beverage team. Qualifications • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment • Must be available to work a varying schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays • Desire to create exceptional experiences for guests and colleagues • Detail Oriented • Strong communication skills • Proficient in general computer knowledge • Able to push, pull, and lift moderate to heavy weight consistently throughout shift • Must have high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, effective communicator, strong developer and trainer, and effective in providing exceptional customer service • Ability to obtain Food Handler’s/Responsible Beverage Service certifications
