Description:The Event & Development Coordinator leads the planning and execution of events while supporting fundraising and donor engagement efforts and creating compelling content that amplifies the impact of African Community Housing & Development. Key Responsibilities: Event Planning & ManagementPlan, coordinate, and execute ACHD events including fundraisers, community gatherings, donor receptions, and program launches.Manage all event logistics including venue coordination, vendor management, registration, timelines, and on-site execution.Collaborate with leadership and program teams to ensure events reflect ACHD’s mission and priorities.Develop event budgets and track expenses to ensure cost-effective execution.Coordinate volunteer support and staff participation for events.Development & Fundraising SupportSupport the development team with fundraising campaigns, donor engagement initiatives, and stewardship activities.Assist with donor communications including invitations, follow-ups, and recognition materials.Maintain donor and event records in the organization’s database.Support grant-related events, donor briefings, and partnership engagements.Content Creation & CommunicationsWith the support of the communications team, develop engaging digital content to promote events, programs, and organizational impact across social media and email channels.Create event-related marketing materials including invitations, graphics, and promotional content.Collaborate with the communications team to ensure consistent messaging aligned with ACHD’s brand.Capture and share stories, photos, and highlights from events and community activities.Administrative & Coordination SupportTrack event timelines and maintain detailed project plans.Assist with preparation of development reports and event summaries.Support cross-department collaboration to ensure events align with ACHD’s housing, education, and economic development initiatives. Experience working in nonprofit development or fundraising.Familiarity with CRM or donor management systems, i.e. Give Smart, BenevityExperience working with diverse communities, particularly immigrant or African diaspora communities.Photography, video, or storytelling experience for digital engagement.
