Background Dillon Beach Resort is a coastal boutique hotel that sits on 55 acres at the mouth of Tomales Bay. This historic hotel offers a range of accommodations from coastal cabins to custom designed tiny-homes. The property features a General Store with curated local products, an onsite restaurant showcasing seasonal, locally inspired cuisine, and a mile long private beach. Responsibilities • Coordinate all aspects of event planning, including venue selection, catering, entertainment, and logistics • Manage lodging arrangements for event attendees, ensuring accommodations meet client specifications and budget constraints • Negotiate contracts with vendors, venues, and service providers to secure the best terms • Develop and execute marketing strategies to promote events and increase attendance • Upsell additional services such as catering upgrades, premium accommodations, or special packages to enhance client satisfaction • Oversee event marketing campaigns through various channels to maximize visibility and engagement • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide exceptional customer service throughout the planning process • Manage budgets for events and lodging services, ensuring cost-effective solutions without compromising quality • Coordinate with catering teams, banquet staff, and other vendors to ensure smooth event execution • Handle guest services during events, addressing any issues promptly and professionally • Maintain detailed timelines and organizational charts to ensure all event components are completed on schedule Qualifications • Proven experience in event management, hospitality, or related fields such as restaurant or hotel experience • Strong negotiation skills with vendors and clients • Excellent marketing and upselling abilities to promote events effectively • Experience in event planning, management, and budgeting processes • Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction • Effective time management skills to handle multiple projects simultaneously • Strong communication skills for liaising with clients, vendors, and team members • Organizational skills necessary for coordinating complex events from start to finish • Knowledge of banquet operations, catering services, contracts, and fundraising is a plus • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
