Within the Culinary Arts & Events department, the role of Event Coordinator Assistant plays a critical part in ensuring that client events at Meijer Gardens are executed flawlessly. The Event Coordinator Assistant provides integral on-site support during evening events, acting as a primary point of contact to maintain seamless event operations and client satisfaction. In addition to on-site duties, the assistant supports event coordinators during office hours by assisting with client event planning and coordination tasks. • High school diploma or equivalent • prior experience in event coordination, hospitality, or venue management preferred • ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays • strong communication and problem-solving skills • ability to work independently and efficiently manage multiple tasks • basic mobility to navigate office, grounds, and exhibition areas • ability to lift objects up to 20 pounds • successfully pass a background check
