Event Manager

Our client, a prominent player in the hospitality sector, is seeking an experienced Event Manager to oversee the planning and execution of diverse events in Huntsville, Alabama, US . This hybrid role requires a blend of on-site coordination and remote organizational duties. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of events, from initial concept and budgeting to execution and post-event analysis. This includes coordinating with vendors, clients, and internal teams to ensure seamless and memorable experiences.

Responsibilities: Plan, organize, and execute a variety of events, including conferences, banquets, weddings, and corporate functions. Develop event budgets, manage expenditures, and ensure profitability. Source and negotiate contracts with vendors, including caterers, decorators, AV technicians, and entertainment. Develop event timelines and manage all logistical aspects, ensuring smooth execution on event days. Liaise with clients to understand their needs and ensure event objectives are met. Coordinate with venue staff, catering teams, and other on-site personnel to ensure seamless event delivery. Oversee event setup, breakdown, and manage on-site staff. Conduct post-event evaluations, gather feedback, and prepare reports on event success. Stay current with industry trends and best practices in event management. Maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors to foster repeat business and referrals. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Tourism, Marketing, or a related field. CMP certification is a plus. 3-5 years of experience in event planning and management, preferably within the hospitality or tourism industry. Proven ability to manage multiple events simultaneously, with meticulous attention to detail. Strong budgeting, negotiation, and vendor management skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills. Proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a hybrid work environment, balancing remote planning with on-site execution in Huntsville, Alabama, US .
