Overview
We Build You Play Sports Group is a Sports Event Company located in Eden, MD. We organize and operate sporting events in the Mid-Atlantic/East Coast regions with plans to expand in the near future. The Events Manager is a leadership role responsible for the strategic planning, operational execution, and overall success of all company events. This position holds full accountability for event performance, ensuring that every operational, financial, and experiential component is aligned with company objectives and executed to the highest standard.
While specialized departments—including Logistics, Event Housing, Merchandise, Marketing/Social Media, and Accounting—manage individual functional responsibilities, the Event Manager provides executive oversight and direction across all event-related operations. The ultimate success of each event rests with this role.
This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership position requiring decisive decision-making, cross-functional coordination, and consistent on-site presence professionally representing the company. Travel and non-traditional work hours, including evenings and weekends, are required, with peak activity occurring from November through June.

Job Responsibilities:
Own the overall success of assigned events, serving as the final point of accountability for all operational, logistical, and experiential outcomes.
Proactively assess event readiness, identify risks or gaps, and take decisive action to resolve issues before and during events.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of event operations, processes, and standards as the company expands.
Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams including Logistics, Event Housing, Marketing/Social Media, Merchandise, and Accounting, to ensure all event components are aligned, completed on schedule, and meet company goals.
Maintain high-level visibility into departmental deliverables while empowering teams to execute their specialized responsibilities such as event logistics and operations.
Recruit, coordinate, and manage event staff for all company and partnership indoor and outdoor events, including Event Managers, Site Managers, Officials, and support staff.
Contract staff for events (Coordinate with Admin)
Provide leadership, direction, and support to on-site staff, delegating responsibilities clearly while maintaining high standards of professionalism, accountability, and customer service.
Serve as the primary company liaison with CVB and venue representatives to ensure facilities are properly prepared and all operational needs are met.
Conduct site visits to evaluate potential venues for court space, team capacity, and spectator accommodations.
Allocate and distribute resources strategically to maximize operational efficiency while maintaining fiscal responsibility and ensuring overall event financial viability. (Areas of focus: Increasing event registrations, merchandises sales, wristband sales, hotel room nights, sponsorships, vendors, and overall event experience)
Coordinate with the Hotel Coordinator to secure housing accommodations for any traveling event staff for the duration of the event.
Cultivate strong relationships with third-party vendors and sponsors to enhance events and increase revenue opportunities. Communicate regularly with Club Directors, Coaches, Players, and Parents to ensure needs are met and to promote positive customer experiences.
Assist with grassroots marketing efforts to promote events and foster community partnerships to ensure brand presence and alignment at both new and established events.
Utilize and manage established software and communication management systems (AES, Ticketbud, Company Website, Asana, BambooHR, Google Drive) to ensure accurate information sharing and operational coordination.
Attend conferences and workshops to capitalize on networking opportunities, attract potential clients, in addition to increasing education on industry trends.
Qualifications and Required Skills
Sports management or large-scale event management experience preferred
Proven leadership ability with experience overseeing cross-functional teams
Strong Management experience
Strong operational, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to delegate effectively while maintaining accountability
Customer-focused mindset with the ability to manage high-pressure situations
Reliable vehicle and ability to travel extensively
Travel required between Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and other tournament sites
Occasional weekend coverage required between January - May
Ability to lift to 50 lbs

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
