Event Planner

Event Planner Job Description/Responsibilities: Field Sales calls and develop events from start to finish; business development; maintain existing client relations; supervise/coordinate all related catering job activities; work beside employees to train and motivate them to a high level of service; work with Chef to ensure consistent quality; establish presentation techniques and quality standards; ensure proper safety procedures; deliver to and/or set up events as well as perform on-site Manager duties at events. Recipe to Succeed: • A passion for Sales and Marketing • Strong supervisory, leadership, management and coaching skills • Good communication skills both written and verbal; able to communicate effectively at all levels • Proficient in menu development, invoice tabulation and cost controls • Proficient computer skills to include; Microsoft Office programs, e-mail and the Internet • Ability to perform various motor skills such as; lifting, reaching, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, squatting, grasping and arm-hand coordination on a continuous basis • Ability to multi-task with constant interruptions • Must work as a team player and get along with others, flexibility and patience is a plus • Culinary creativity and menu writing abilities • Exhibit courtesy, tact and urgency in performance of duties • Loyalty to Above and Beyond Catering as a Company and a brand Necessary Ingredients: • Three (3) to five (5) years of culinary, business and management experience in event planning, catering, foodservice, fine dining, or restaurant • Good knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on sales, quality and presentation • Being able to lift 50 lbs • Strong knowledge of catering and event procedures; loading, packing, on- site food finishing and presentation, bussing and breakdown • Basic knowledge of rental inventory and equipment • Basic familiarity of area venues and event spaces • Must be able to pass criminal background and drug test.
