**Events Assistant**Friendly Center is looking for a dependable and outgoing Federal Work-Study student to
assist with upcoming fundraising events and community outreach. The Events Assistant will
work closely with Friendly Center staff to help promote our annual Gala, connect with potential donors, and support the planning and execution of the event. This is a great opportunity for a student who enjoys meeting new people, communicating with others, and gaining hands-on experience with nonprofit events and fundraising

**What You’ll Gain**This position provides hands-on experience in nonprofit event planning, fundraising, donor
outreach, community engagement, and event execution. Students will have the opportunity
to build communication and professional networking skills while helping Friendly Center
raise funds to support children and families in our community.

Responsibilities

* Assist with outreach to current and potential donors for Friendly Center’s upcoming Gala.
* Make phone calls and send communications to potential donors and community supporters.
* Help spread the word about the Gala by reaching out to businesses and community members.
* Assist with community outreach and promoting Friendly Center’s events.
* Help with event preparation, including organizing materials and setting up for the Gala.
* Assist staff during the Gala with event activities and guest needs.
* Help with cleanup and breakdown following the event.
* Assist with other event-related tasks as needed.

Required Qualifications

* Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study through their college or university.
* Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable communicating with others.
* Comfortable making phone calls to potential donors and community partners.
* Reliable and able to work independently.
* Organized and able to manage multiple tasks.
* Comfortable representing Friendly Center in the community.
* Previous event, customer service, fundraising, or office experience is helpful but not required.

**Schedule Requirements
Schedule: Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:00 AM–4:00 PM; potential for remote work.**
Students should be available to work one or two four-hour shifts per week. Some flexibility
may be available for remote work depending on the tasks being completed.
The student must also be available to assist with the setup and execution of Friendly Center’s Gala on October 2.

Desired Qualifications

* Conversational Spanish a plus.
* General Education background a plus.
