Position Summary • The Office of Student Life enhances the mission of OSU-Cascades by providing services, resources, activities, and involvement opportunities to support the co-curricular experience of our students. • This position will work 15 hours per week at $17.50/hour starting with training Tuesday, September 3rd. Position Duties • Event Planning and Support (60%) • Assist in developing a detailed Event Plan for each assigned event, inclusive of planning timeline, event timeline, estimated budget, and promotional plan • Assist with the assessment, evaluation, and wrap-up of Events Council events, including event reports and recommendations for the future • Work with OSU-Cascades professional staff, community members, outside vendors as needed for events • Administrative Responsibilities (25%) • Assist in setting and accomplishing goals for Events Council • Maintain regular office hours to assist in the facilitation of day-to-day tasks and to facilitate general office duties like answering phone calls or emails • Attend Events Council staff meetings and engage in ongoing training, professional development, and community building • Support the development and maintenance of educational tools, trainings and tutorials • Assist in the attendance and/or ticketing process for events, including sales, deposits, and tracking payments • Complete other administrative tasks as needed • Other Position Responsibilities (15%) • May be asked to serve on a committee or work group within the Office of Student Life or Student Affairs • Work to learn, enhance, and promote diversity and social justice • Represent Events Council and the Office of Student Life to the OSU-Cascades and Central Oregon community • Engage in ongoing professional development and community building • Duties Breakdown • Five hours will be for Office Hours • Five hours will be for either Events or event prep/follow-up (switches approximately every other week) • Three hours will be for planning events (outside of designated Office Hours) • Thirty minutes will be for weekly individual check-ins • One hour will be for weekly Events Council meetings • Important Dates • Interviews will begin shortly after applications are received to fill positions before training.
