Assistant Wedding Planner

Job Summary
An Assistant Wedding Planner supports the Lead Planner and Production Lead Planner in executing seamless, well-organized wedding experiences. This role focuses on logistical coordination, event setup, detail management, and on-site support.
Assistant Planners play a critical role in delivering exceptional service by anticipating needs, maintaining professionalism, and ensuring timelines and design elements are executed accurately. This position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to grow within the wedding and events industry.
Key Responsibilities1. Event Preparation & Support
Review timelines, design summaries, and vendor lists prior to each event.
Assist with organizing materials, décor, signage, and personal items before event day.
Confirm understanding of assigned tasks with the Lead or Production Planner.
Arrive prepared and on time for rehearsals and wedding day execution.
2. On-Site Event Execution
Support event setup, styling, and breakdown according to the approved design plan.
Assist with ceremony and reception flow under direction of the Lead or Production Planner.
Manage assigned responsibilities such as:
Guest guidance
Personal décor placement
Signage setup
Gift/card collection
Vendor check-ins
Communicate updates or issues promptly to the Lead or Production Planner.
Maintain calm, professional demeanor at all times.
3. Vendor & Guest Interaction
Serve as a professional and welcoming presence onsite.
Provide courteous assistance to vendors and guests as needed.
Escalate client or vendor concerns to the Lead or Production Planner appropriately.
4. Design & Styling Support
Execute design elements as directed, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
Assist with tabletop styling, décor placement, and visual consistency.
Handle rental items and floral elements with care.
Double-check final placements before guest arrival.
5. Timeline & Detail Management
Help monitor the event timeline and notify leadership of any deviations.
Support transitions between ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception.
Anticipate needs before being asked (water for couple, bustle assistance, etc.).
6. Post-Event Responsibilities
Assist with organized breakdown and load-out.
Ensure personal items are properly packed and returned.
Participate in post-event debriefs when requested.
7. Professional Development & Team Collaboration
Complete all required SEG training modules and ongoing education.
Seek feedback and actively work toward skill development.
Demonstrate readiness for increased responsibility over time.
Growth Path: Assistant Planner → Production Lead Planner → Lead Planner

Interest in weddings, hospitality, or event planning.
Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments.
Proficiency in basic digital communication tools and scheduling systems.
Experience in events or hospitality is preferred but not required.
Working Conditions
Must be available for evening, weekend, and holiday events.
Occasional travel may be required.
Must be comfortable standing for extended periods and assisting with light setup tasks (30–50 lbs).
Dress Code
Assistant Planners are expected to maintain a polished, professional appearance that reflects the Simply Elegant brand.
Standard event attire is all black, professional clothing (dress pants, blouse, blazer, or approved dress), unless otherwise directed.
Clothing must be clean, pressed, and free of logos or visible branding.
Closed-toe, comfortable professional footwear is required.
Hair, makeup, and accessories should be neat and understated.
Name badge (if issued) must be worn during events.
Final attire direction may vary depending on event formality, venue requirements, or specific client requests.
