Position Overview
Rider University, an NCAA Division I institution and member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) invites applications for the Coordinator of Events and Equipment Manager. Reporting to the Associate Athletic Director of Operations & Facilities, this individual will manage games/events for all athletic programs and serve as the point of contact for visiting teams, officials and security in the absence of the Associate Athletic Director.
Specifically, the individual will be responsible for:
• Assisting in the management, administration and supervision of all athletic facilities which requires evenings and weekends;
• Supervising and training student event staff;
• Working closely with departmental and other University constituents to prepare all home venues for competition;
• Coordinating maintenance and distribution of uniforms and equipment for all athletics teams including the laundering of uniforms and practice gear, sizing of equipment, and billing athletes for outstanding equipment; and
• Inspecting all incoming supplies and goods while maintaining an efficient inventory system.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Experience
• Bachelor's degree with a strong interest and knowledge of college athletics.
• Strong interest in pursuing a career in college athletic administration.
• Must be organized and have the ability to juggle multiple events through strong planning.
• Must communicate, manage, and motivate student workers.
• Must communicate with coaches, student-athletes, student workers, and fans in order to provide quality service and quality experiences.
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
• Satisfactory background and/or DMV checks required.
