Hybrid | Washington, DC | Temporary Assignment

Our client, a respected nonprofit organization in Washington, DC, is seeking a temporary Event Specialist to support the planning, coordination, and execution of conferences, expos, and member-facing events. This role is ideal for a highly organized professional who enjoys managing event logistics, supporting external stakeholders, and delivering exceptional customer service throughout the event lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Support the planning, coordination, and execution of conferences, meetings, and special events.Serve as a primary point of contact for event participants, partners, vendors, and stakeholders, ensuring a positive event experience from planning through onsite execution.Manage event registrations, participant communications, event materials, and required documentation.Coordinate event logistics, including scheduling, deadlines, attendee support, and vendor collaboration.Develop and distribute event-related communications, updates, and logistical information.Respond to inquiries regarding event participation, registration, policies, deadlines, and general event support.Maintain accurate records, participant data, financial documentation, and event reporting.Process invoices, payment requests, and other administrative documentation.Support event technology platforms, registration systems, databases, and attendee engagement tools.Track project timelines and deliverables to ensure successful event execution.Manage shared support channels and provide timely assistance to participants and stakeholders.Assist with event marketing efforts, outreach campaigns, and post-event reporting.Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure seamless event operations.Provide onsite support for meetings, conferences, and special events, including attendee assistance, logistics coordination, and troubleshooting.Qualifications

2+ years of experience in event planning, conference management, association management, sponsorship coordination, customer service, or a related field.Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and event-related technology platforms.Experience supporting conferences, trade shows, educational programs, or nonprofit events is highly preferred.Ability to work independently while collaborating with a variety of stakeholders.Strong attention to detail and commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
