Essential Functions • Prepare detailed event schedules, including timelines for setup, service, and breakdown • Assist in training staff members to complete duties and responsibilities for catered events • Supervise the catering team during events, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and according to the event timeline • Participate in catered event tasks, including food preparation, setup, service, and breakdown • Ensure that food safety standards are strictly followed, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices • Monitor safety protocols on-site, including managing potential hazards and ensuring staff adherence to health regulations • Maintain accurate production records as well as food, supply, and labor cost expenses of catered events and staff menus • Create and maintain accurate food, supplies and decoration inventories to ensure ample stock • Research menu ideas and conduct recipe taste tests • Communicate with staff with clear, organized instructions • Performs all other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Ability to display knowledge of effective methods of leadership and supervision • Ability to understand and follow detailed written and oral instructions • Displays knowledge of basic culinary and sanitation skills • Ability to read and follow standardized recipes, including weights and measurements • Ability to learn prescribed food preparation methods and school nutrition operations • Ability to prepare food with reasonable speed and accuracy • General knowledge of the use and care of food preparation equipment • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with students and school staff • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide diversity of associates, students and school staff • Ability to remain flexible and open to changes in regulations, duties, policies, procedures, etc. • Ability to maintain confidential information • Ability to maintain Professional Standards continuing education by attending conferences and workshops when requested • Basic proficiency in English is required for safety and communication of work instructions • Ability to operate department truck and/or van for catered event transportation as needed Seldom = Less than 25% Occasional = 26 to 50% Often = 51 to 75% Very Frequent = Greater than 75% Ability to operate job-related equipment.
